I've used it and found that the generic (compare to) brands work just as well for me (and I'm not the type to use generic either).

Have you tried Singulair (sp?)? It's an allergy medication but also helps prevent asthma. My son has bad allergies and asthma and this has been a miracle drug for him!

Learn your triggers by keeping a diary of episodes. Avoid those triggers if you can.

Learn what medications you have and what they are for. Use them as prescribed.

Learn the signs and symptoms of asthma and know what to do when. This is known as an asthma action plan.

Knowing all of these and acting appropriately is the key to managing asthma.

As far as the clarinex question. You may want to switch to something else. Clairton is an over the counter medication like Clarinex and can be found in generic form. Try allergies nose sprays (watch out for side effect of Afrin). If you cant control the asthma and allergies, see a doctor.

The first thing you need to do is get rid of the toxic cleaners and laundry products in your home and replace them with all natural cleaners as many are registered pesticides. Once you get rid of them take them to your nearsest toxic waste recycling place to dispose of them. Have someone come in and clean everything including the carpet and furniture with the new cleaners and do all of your laundry in the new products. Clarinex is an antihistamine so it it meant to dry up your nose. Since you are still having phlegm in the morning be sure to let your doc know this. Sounds like you still have some allergens etc in your bedroom that are causing problems which really suggests that someone needs to clean and dust for you with all natural products. Be sure to encase your mattress and pillow with those protective covers and use an air purifier in your bedroom.

What happens if I miss a dose?

Use the missed dose as soon as you remember. Skip the missed dose if it is almost time for your next scheduled dose. Do not use extra medicine to make up the missed dose.
