ok, i took a clearblue easy test thursday late afternoon....negative again. friday morning still no period and no signs of it either. Heres the full story, we had sex the day i ovulated, and actually days before and a few after as well. A few days before i'm supposed to get my period i was having some very painful cramps...stop you in your tracks kind of pain...which is odd, i never have cramping but they lasted about 2 days on and off. I have been fine since but no period. I track my cycle daily and havent done anything different this past month than any other, except sex.

I took a pregnancy test (The brand Answer) 7 full days before my period was due and got a positive!!

How soon can I test? Well, first you gotta know how the test works. Briefly: the home pregnancy test (HPT) works by detecting a hormone called human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG.) When an egg is fertilized, it takes about 6 to 12 days to implant in the uterus, and then it begins to secrete hCG. It takes another day or two for enough hCG to build up and make its way into your pee. So, generally speaking, the earliest you can expect a positive HPT is 8 days past ovulation ("DPO") and the latest would be about 16 DPO. It is possible to get a positive test earlier or later, but not as common. In my experience, if you use a sensitive "early" test (anything that detects 25 mIU/mL of hCG or less) you can test around 12-14 DPO and feel reasonably secure with your results (the later you test, the more secure you can feel in its accuracy.)

If you do not chart or monitor your fertility in any way, and you think you may have conceived, you should wait 19 days (or longer) after having sex to test. Why 19?! Sperm can live approximately 5 days in the proper environment; if the sperm managed to live until you popped an egg, the actual conception could have taken place several days after the sex act that got the sperm there. To make sure you're not testing too early, assume the sperm had very long lives (5 days is considered a very long sperm life) and that conception occurred then. Then allow 14 days for the embryo to implant and develop enough hCG to show up on a pregnancy test (96% of pregnant women will test positive by then.)

I've had delayed periods and cramps like those you've described and they were caused by a ovarian cyst. the ovaries produce monthly one-more follicules which break and release the ovum = ovulation. one of these follicules might not break or it might break and then bleed and swell and turn into a cyst of variable sizes; mine had 6 cm in diameter. they can be treated with antiinflamatory drugs and hormone substitutes, but these need to be prescribed by your physician. also, regarding pregnancy test: try another type of test; the packing should clearly indicate the earliest day in which you can use the test. you can also have you hCH determined in a blood sample (it's a hormone produced by the placental cells, from the early days of the pregnancy), ask ur physician.
also, the "second day" pills also delay the periods sometimes.

I know on the ept test it says on the box that u can test 5 days early. Good Luck and i would retest in a couple of days or wait until you miss a period for the month.

sometimes your period is late. Are you stressed, dieting, exercising more than normal. Sometimes they play a part in how your period works. I never used off brand pregnancy test...I always used the brand ones. I think that they give you better results. If you dont get it check with your doctor. Also go to this website and read up on it. www.mymonthlycycles.com

all pregnancy tests can give false negative and positive results. ofcourse, the later you miss your period the better the result of the test. the test for traces of a special hormone in your urine that pregnant women have. it is possible you took the test too early. also there are tests that can determine if you are pregnant or not up to one day of a missed period or earlier.

The brand really shouldn't matter. They wouldn't be able to sell something that was ineffective. I would maybe give it a week and try again. If you are still unclear I would then proceed to contact your doctor for a pregnancy test.

I would go buy another test and try again. You might be late having your period due to other things like your diet, exercise or stress.

Maybe. You're supposed to wait til you're late. I took one of those yesterday and I'm 3 days late and it was still negative. I would try again.
