Depends on how long it's been expired. If it's only a month overdue, then, I would think it would be ok. If longer, then, no. The strenth of the mixture is not as strong. Also, when you go to the clinic, see if they can 1) Be willing to call it in when you need it or
2) Have a standing prescription at the pharmacy that's good for a certain amount of time. Like say, 4 months. This way , you would have easy access to the med if you should need it.
This also happened to my son. I was afraid to use the expired solution as well. I decided not to. But, my doctor will call a small amount in to get him by until I can get him to the office. Maybe you could call the clinic and see if they would call in a small amount for the time being. Like just a couple of vials?

There is really no reason to insult someone just because they ask a question. What they are seeking is answers to a question. Yes, perhaps common sense might say don't use expired meds but if a person asks the question they should get an answer. They didn't come on here to get insulted in their time of need. They are already concerned about their child. Have some mercy. Lord, help our world!

How expired is it? Wow, I hope you're not waiting on the advice of people here for this answer. If you are concerned you should take him to the Emergency Room because asthma can go from bad to life threatening in a very short time. I know because my daughter is asthmatic and we have had a few runs to the ER for the same reason.
I would especially be wary of asthma medication that has expired.

most medications are still good for awhile after the expiration date, however, you should consult emergency doctors. Perhaps you can give them the date. Get that boy to the doctor now.
