Hi, i read about this article which concluded that people with higher BMI (obese and overweight) has a lower heart failure mortality compared with those with lower BMI (normal or underweight).

So, what would a possible explaination for this? Thanks :)

the study was BMI and inhospital mortality, they didnt mention anything about ppl having heart attacks at home or anyplace other that a hospital so i dont think u can conclude from that study that higher BMI is safer than normal BMI

Just off the top of my head I think it may be from weight applied to the heart that makes it work harder. Making it stronger. If you will, like lifting weights everytime it beats.

You misunderstood the study and it was based on in hospital patients.
