I really like evite- evite.com

They have 50 or so different themes and party planning ideas, right down to the decorations, the food, the drinks, and activities. You also have your invitations and guest lists, if you do the evites through their site, right there. They have checklists that keep track of your to-dos and you can search for any caterers, djs, limo services, etc you need right there too.

Here is one of my favorite ideas:
elegant dinner
appetizer:
Tomatoes Stuffed with Fresh Mozzarella and Basil
main dish:
Pretzel-Crusted Pork Chops with Orange-Mustard Sauce
side dish:
Mashed Yukon Gold Potatoes with Goat Cheese and Basil
dessert:
Inside-Out German Chocolate Cake

Have fun!

I like to use the www.foodtimeline.org.

It goes through the history of food, from pre-history until now, and you can throw pretty good and original parties in that way!! It also has all the recipes.

Imagine a toga-party with roman food, or a'70ies with all realistic time warp recipes!!!

Ok well watch Food Network for the food in case you're cooking. Oh and look on orientaltrading.com! Cheap supplies there and some great planning!
