No, I'm a vegan and if it opens people's eyes AT LEAST then that is fine by me. I have no desire to watch it myself as that is why I'm a vegan , I know what happens to the cute farm animals and I don't want to be part of it myself. I think the fact that it gets people thinking is a good thing. It may even move some people to become veggie or vegan.

I've not seen the advert, just heard one on the radio. I think it's important that more people see the process behind the meat they choose to eat. It is very easy for people to bury the truth under layers of packaging or bread crumbs. The fact is that the meat industry exists for one reason, to make money for the people who produce it. The welfare of animals always comes second in an equation like that. That is why I am vegan, so that my money does not contribute in any way to the suffering of animals.

I'm pleased this has made you think, I think it should also make you think of going the extra step and becoming Vegan - go to http://www.animalaid.org.uk or http://www.vegansociety.com for details.

I hope, as a result of the truth being shown that some people listen to their consciences and say "I don't want this done in my name". That is what every vegetarian and vegan is saying when they choose not to eat meat and it's what you'll be saying if you go back to being a veggie and do it properly this time!

Take care and if you need any help with going back to veg, let me know.

If it actually bothers you this much, it's probably a good enough reason to give up meat again. You likely did not get proper nutrition the first time around, because just eliminating meat does not equal a healthy diet.

Consult a nutritionist if you decide to go veg again. Even if you don't, please realize that animal flesh is not the best way of getting your protein. The good things that meat has to offer (protein, iron) can be found in SO many non-meat food items, and those generally contain less fat and cholesterol.

I personally don't have a problem with such a program. People NEED to be aware of where their food comes from.

I have no problem with it.

I am a vegan and have heard many meat eaters over the years say 'oh I love animals and worry about animal welfare so I just don't think about where meat comes from'!

Programs like this and the adverts for it will mean they don't have that luxury any more and some may decide to become vegetarians like you are considering.

What adverts are you talking about? Where are you seeing these adverts?

Are you talking about http://www.meat.org ?

If so: I have no problem with that program itself per se, because that is the harsh reality of the meat industry. Although, I do have a problem with what the program depicts; that is to say, I do not like the conditions created by factory farming.

EDIT: Now that I see you are talking about a program in the UK, you can disregard my comments.

PsychoCola is absolutely right.

I can not believe people are so selfish and self-righteous as to complain about being informed of what they spend their money on. You should know that already. And if you aren't OK with it, and you buy it anyway, you have no right to complain. Are we supposed to respect people's desire to bury their heads in the sand? It doesn't work like that.

Kerianne, I am sure you can work something out if you really want to be veggie but you have to know what you're doing. Get a book about it, or if you have real problems see a dietician. Good luck!

my partner and i havent eaten meat for 15 years now but not bcause we were against the slaughter it was bcause of the stuff they were feeding animals at the time like clynbutamol the stuff body builders take to enhance their muscles any chemical that is added to your food is no good for you at one stage they fed the baby chicks antibiotics which in turn goes into your body and renders you immune to the stuff if you realy need it for say some deciese i watched the program and it was stomach wrenching but a means to a neccicary end if you eat meat good luck to you but if you chose not to then their are other methods that you can get your vit b marmite is a good source try adding it to your gravy i do believe that we have evolved so that we dont need meat in our bodies any more but at the end of the day its all about choice and we non meat eaters shouldnt be made to feel that we are wierd because we make that choice

no wonder you became unhealthy. Why ever would you live on pizza and chips? There is no nutrition there. I enjoy a varied diet of mac and cheese, cous cous, raw veggies dipped in hummus, mexican foods, oriental stir fries and noodles, smoothies with yogurt and fresh fruit, melons, steamed veggies, twice baked potato, tomato, zuchini, or bell pepper stuffed with seasoned rice, bean and cheese tacos, portabello mushroom grilled and served instead of a burger, my goodness, I could go on for days. I assume you do not cook, but it really is simple. Learn to, its easy and fun. I would starve before I ate a dead animal

Wait... so you're saying that you're only willing to eat meat as long as you don't know where it comes from? What the hell kind of logic is that?

Either be a vegetarian, or get real comfortable with the fact that eating meat causes lots of unnecessary suffering.

Maybe once you're a vegetarian you'll have a right to complain about this kind of thing.

Last night on one of the sky channels i saw a program called "Kill it cook it eat it" in which an entire restaurant is next to an abattoir and they all watched cows being killed then sliced and bled out before watching them cut up and cooked. I wasn't a veggie before but i am now thinking about it.
