Ketchup is fine.

Normal gummy bears, however, are made with gelatin, which is basically the cooked-out skin and bones of animals. There are, however, also gelatin-free gummy bears (made with pectin, which comes from apples) - those are okay for vegetarians.

Ketchup is fine to eat. Gummy bears have gelatin, a product from a slaughtered animal.

Vegetarians can eat anything that they want. However, many would choose not to eat Gummy products because they are made from gelatin - bones/hooves/tendons of animals.

As long as there is nothing animal based in ketchup, most vegetarians would not have a problem with it.

Gummi bears have gelatin, unless you buy specialty ones. So no on them since they are made of boiled hooves and ligaments.
I've never been aware of anything odd in ketchup, but every brand is different so just check out the labels.

I don't know if this is still true, but some ketchup companies used to put in ingredients like oysters and anchovies... and vegetarians don't eat fish...

and gummi bears have gelatin in them... gelatin comes from animal hooves, skin, bones, whatever... so yeah, we don't eat that, either. Well, most of us.

I just call the company that makes the food and ask if there is any animal derived ingredients in their product. If not, I'll eat it. i don't think Gummi Bears are vegan but I think some ketchup is.

Most vegetarians and vegans don't eat gelatin, but many big candy companies make their gelatin from algae sorces instead of cow (due to mad cow disease).
