you will need cooked rice, try to have cooked rice from long grain not short grain
vegetable oil, soy sauce, oyster sauce/oil, sesame oil, and fish oil (believe me you do need all these oils ^_^)
1-2 eggs beaten
chopped onion
sliced green onion
sliced beef balls
shredded cooked chicken
thinly sliced beef
shrimps, peeled
and veggies you want, such as corn kernel, diced carrot
MSG (unfortunately yes)
seasonings, such as table blend, Vegeta etc
salt and pepper
fried egg, green onion, corriander leaf, cilantro leaf for garnish
and if you wish a slightly hot fried rice, add the hot sauce while sauteing the chopped onion ^_^
voila, you will get your complete fried rice ^_^

Just to add, it is very difficult for home-cooked fried rice to taste the same as that you find in the restaurants. They use very huge fires to cook the dish which makes the fried rice more fragrant and less starchy then what you can get at home.
Fried rice actually originated as a dish using leftover rice fried with other leftover ingredients. So the best rice for cooking it with is actually those cooked the day before! Yes, freshly cooked rice just doesn't taste as good. And use any ingredient that you fancy. Check out some tips from a chef below.

Here's what I do. Boil rice, but purposely undercooked. Chop vegetabels [onion, carrots, bell peppers, cabbage, corn]. Cut the meat/chicken into smaller pieces, boil them in plain water.
Afetr all of that's been done, take a frying pan. Put some oil in it. Take the onions, fry them, add ajinomoto, fry until almost golden, take out, place aside. Then fry the carrots, bell peppers, cabbage, corn, ALL SEPERATELY and put aside. Then fry the chicken, the same, with oil & ajinomoto. At the end, add all of the fried vegs and the chicken in the rice, mix well. Serve with chilli sauce, soy-sauce & vinegar.

I make it often. It requires nice dry cooked rice. You start with some oil and fry an onion. add the diced meat you wish to use. stir fry. You can use celery or mushrooms, stir fry. add an egg and stir fry, add the rice and stri fry till all is hot and well mixed. It takes soy sauce as a seasoning.
