why would taking ramipril raise your blood pressure?

It wouldnt - it lowers blood pressure. Is there not another cause of increase. Rarely ramipril can upset kidney function and if this is the case altered kidney function could cause increased blood pressure. If this is the case it is serious and needs attention.
