It is a sexually transmitted disease. There is no other way. The fact that you did not get it is possible even if having sex with an infected person. If he tested positive then he was exposed. If you are negative then it was not you.

OK. I'm not saying that he did or did NOT cheat on you, but you might want to give him the benefit of the doubt.

I was married for 20+ years then divorced. Had two girlfriends afterwards.

About a month after me and GF #2 got intimate, she came down with it. I immediately called my ex GF #1 and she got tested. She came up negative.

So perhaps I got it from the ex? Or maybe I've had it when I was a teenager and my ex and GF #1 never got it for some reason.

Perhaps he had relations BEFORE he met you and has been a carrier all this time. That sounds plausible to me. I understand that some people do NOT contract chlamydia and perhaps you are one of the lucky ones.

Being a guy I've been in situations that don't seem right. Like lipstick on my collar. Repeated phone calls from "strange girls". I know that I've been faithful. Sometime all you have is trust.

The lipstick thing. A co-worker that I hadn't seen in about a year came up and kissed me on the collar.

Repeated phone calls. Former class mate found my phone number in the telephone directory and called me. She was going through a divorce and didn't have her head on straight.

Things are not always as they seem.

it may not be an option you want to look into but it is an option!

Chlamydia is known as a "silent" disease because about three quarters of infected women and about half of infected men have no symptoms. If symptoms do occur, they usually appear within 1 to 3 weeks after exposure.

Any sexually active person can be infected with chlamydia. The greater the number of sex partners, the greater the risk of infection. Because the cervix (opening to the uterus) of teenage girls and young women is not fully matured, they are at particularly high risk for infection if sexually active. Since chlamydia can be transmitted by oral or anal sex, men who have sex with men are also at risk for chlamydial infection.

And you haven't call a divorce lawyer yet? Girlfriend.......don't be no fool! There isn't that much d!ck in the world that would make me stay with his @ss! Don't give me an excuse about we have kids because I always think that's a flimsy excuse! I do not need a man that f*cks up on me! And neither does any other woman! It's a sign of weakness when you let the f*ckas get a way with that sh!t! I can do bad and good by myself and still have a good relationship with a good man! Which is what I'm doing and loving it! Some of these men actually think that their the only d!cks in town! Well honey you better start schooling their @sses on that part! I've been a teacher for years! I let a man know quick, fast and in a hurry and that's why they stay on my heels because I don't act needy!

I'm sorry, but he had to have cheated on you to catch the STI.

Unless....you only just got married recently? He could have had it before from a previous sexual partner...he could have had the STI and not knew because chlamydia is often called the 'silent' disease as it normally doesn't show any symptoms. You are lucky that you didn't catch it off him.

I can't think of any other possible explanation apart from that though.... ah well, look at it this way - he's the one with the STI, not you!

I don't agree with any of those people saying that it's probably cheating...you can have it, sometimes it will show, and sometimes it wont...there are also false posative results..and perhaps he's had it the whole time, and you were just lucky enough not to catch it...there is a whole bunch of possabilities out there....more people in this world are infected by one std or another than you could possibly even imagine, and most never even know it.

My friends huband had it too and he didn't cheat. Now they are divorced and she has faced the truth. You need to ask your doctor if there was any other possible way that he could have it and if he says no, face the fact that he was with someone else. Sorry but why stick your head in the sand next it could be AIDS.

oh my goodness, don't be naive! if your not cheating then he did! that is the only way to catch it. been there done that 19 yrs ago. ex husband was in Korea for a year, came back to visit and gave it to me. doc said if i wasn't cheating then he was. turns out on his b day while in Korea he slept with a hooker, finally admitted it after 8yrs of being divorced.

your a fool if you think he's not cheating! " cheating is not an option".....lol your funny and must be young too.

An estimated 2.8 million Americans are infected with chlamydia each year. Women are frequently re-infected if their sex partners are not treated.
