While it is suggested not to share intimate objects, there has never been any evidence that herpes can be spread by object. Even in the event that partners share sex toys, they have been no documented cases of exposure. So no, it is not likely to catch it from a tub, a toilet, or from towels.
You can catch it by having oral sex, anal sex, dry humping, or by touching infected genitals or oral sores then touching your own.

TRUST ME !(refering to the other answers) you cant get it from a toilet seat, from using a bath tub, by shaking hands or anything like that. You can get it from sex, of course, from oral sex if that person has a cold sore ( cold sore is a type of herpes ) and there is no proof but it is not recommended to share bath towels, razors used to shave pubic area, bed sheets......anything that might have come in DIRECT contact with body fluids of an infected person. Here is a herpes hotline number, 1-888-426-9555, just call, you dont have to speak with anyone, just select option 1 then option 2.....you'll have your answer from a reliable source. Good Luck

Some people who "parade" around trying to convince people that the disease is from SEX only are often using that as a means to SCARE TACTIC kids or anyone from having sexual relations... Some of these things that they call STD's can come from SEX RELATIONS however some can come from BLOOD transfer and we all know SALIVA contains blood... and in some cases certain things coudl RUB onto BED SHEETS and if you share a bed with someone infected it could infect you(if it is that type of transmittable disease)
I really do not know much about diseases in gerneral or viruses and such but if HIV/AIDS is the way they say it is... well then you can get it from BLOOD right? And so KISSING would transmit it or other things as well...
The hope is for all these horrible diseases we will come up with CURES to get rid of them.
Hope in defense.

By having sexual contact..even when protected, i.e. condom, there is still that possiblity especially if they are currently having an outbreak. Also, if you know of someone that has herpes, don't use towels, clothes that they have used without first washing with bleach.

well i know for sure it not passed by a toilet seat for the simple fact my whole family and majory of my friend would have it and it the same for the bath tub.now how a person can catch it is they have had to come in contact with someone who has got it and either had oral sex or has had skin to skin contact as meaning dry humping with some who has it
