I usually get 4-5 sinus infections a year and the fastest way to get rid of it is to go to the doctor and have them put you on an anti-biotic. They will give you one as long as you are not alergic to the medication. Other than that, stay away from most nasil sprays because if you use them too much, they can be really bad for you. There is a saleen spray called Ocean that is great (it's not quite as strong as the ones with the medication, but is natural and shouldn't have any adverse effects). As far as over-the-counter medication, I like Sudafed 24hr, but again, if you get them (sinus infections) often, you need to see a doctor.

I would also suggest not sleeping with a fan on and turning down your heater/AC because with air blowing on you while you sleep, particulary on your face, it will make your symptoms worse (you may notice that your symtoms are worse in the morning, especially sore throat). You should also drink lots of water and take hot showers to help break up that pressure.

As a chronic sinus sufferer, I have found Sudafed Non-Drying Sinus to be the best, along with lots of vitamin C. I have managed to stave off the antibiotics a few times with that combo. Along with lots of fluids and the good old chicken soup routine - I swear by it. Feel better :)
