I have been on beta blockers for over 20 yrs. I weaned off over about a month because I was going to have a radiofrequency ablation for an arrythmia. They were very careful to wean me slowly. I think I must have a physical addiction to the beta blockers if that is possible because when I weaned, I was shaking like a leaf on a tree and my knees felt as though they were going to go out from under me. I felt very agitated and was shaking from the inside out. After the ablation was completed, I went back on the dose of Bisoprolol I was on and got back to normal within 24 hours. I take the Bisoprolol for a fast heart beat and when they tried to wean me, my resting heart rate was about120.
You have only been on the beta blockers for a few months and I doubt you will experience the problems I had. I have heart problems, not blood pressure issues. My beta blockers keep my heart beat below 100.
You do not have a heart attac from weaning off beta blockers. Dont panic. Wean like they tell you to and you will be fine.
Discuss your concerns with your doctor. They are very knowledgable about these things and will help you and answer your questions. ]

Your doctor has prescribed a beta blocker for a reason. If you want to change medication, consult with you doctor; do not do this on your own. Stopping any medication can be dangerous, and beta blockers have risks of their own including heart attack. There are other medications available, so call the doc. If you are not around, then you can't have sex at all.

Yes, it is best to consult your doctor before doing this. I took a beta blocker for 10 years. As it was causing my blood glucose to rise (this is not uncommon with betas), I wanted to go off of it.
I simply cut the tablets in half - took one week -then into quarters-took another week and had no problems. 100 mg isn't a very high dose compared to some people, so you shouldn't have any trouble. But tell your doctor and maybe ask to switch to an ACE inhibitor (less side effects).

this is too dangerous to do on your own. ask your doctor for advice.
