1 long (or gross) ton = 2240 pounds
1 short (or net) ton = 2000 pounds
1 tonne (i.e., a metric ton) = 2204.6 pounds
In the United States, when people say "a ton," they're thinking the short ton, or 2000 pounds.

haha, thanks for the pun but not all chinese soup is "won ton" and it's pronounced HWUN TUN so technically no, 2000 lbs of chinese soup is not "won ton". it is one ton of soup though, have fun tyring to drink it all.
