Over the weekend, for the first time since New Years Eve, I got a little drunk. My boyfriend was over and he was eating some chinese take-out. Later that night, in my drunken state, I opened the fridge and discovered the leftovers. Then I preceded to take a bite of chicken. Now I feel terrible about it eating it. I didn't enjoy it and have no clue why I did it. Has this type of thing happend to anyone else?????

I take it you're a vegetarian for moral reasons: you do not believe in killing animals for food.

If this is the case, comfort yourself in the knowledge that it was already dead. Your actions did not cause the death of an animal. Especially since this was leftovers, your eating the chicken or not isn't going to make a difference.

What's done is done.

In the future, if you're concerned about this sort of thing, control your drinking. (Not meant as a put down)

haha yes! i know how you feel...i partied with friends and one time i had a slice of cheese...yeah, it was the booze whispering in my ear... :P
and i didn't even remember that i did that the next morning! but...i feel deeper guilt moreso if i partake in the eating of something non-vegan and i'm much in a state of sobriety (like let's say the family ordered pizza, and of course there's cheese on it....it's either have a slice, or starve for the night haha--i might have a slice, but only begrudgingly so...!)!

i just try and be the best vegan i can be...and that's all you can do too (and all that the animals ask of you as well)!

if i know i'm going to be partying and probably get hungry, then i'll either buy some (vegan) food beforehand (or go on a drunken adventure and have a supermarket field-trip hahaha!) :D

if you want, here are a few snack-food munchies that i get, that are vegan/veg-friendly--
- Oreo Reduced Fat cookies
- America's Choice (?) Ginger Snaps
- Oriental Flavor Ramen Noodles (you have to watch out and make sure that they're the kind with no milk or beef broth in them)
- Campbell's (Classic) Tomato Soup (i think this's the one....but one of their Tomato soup's should not have milk in it, so get that one, and you're golden!)

....just a few favorites...like i said, if you know you're gonna be partying, try and buy some personal food stashes for yourself, or go on a munchie-run (just double or triple-check the ingredients on stuff when you buy it, if you're...partied-out hahaha!)

peace always

Its alright, just forget about it, dont become drunk anymore, being drunk is bad for anyone. Be careful what you eat from now on and move on with life.

I wouldn't worry over it, I eat "white meat" but a little while ago I bit into a pepperoni hidden under the cheese in my pizza. At least you now know how you still feel about eating meat and your goals are still intact.

forgive yourself and chalk it up to the booze. I drink on a regular basis and do stupid stuff. Feeling guilty isnt going to change the fact that you ate a little. No harm, no fowl (no pun intended, really) Lighten up on yourself, toots.

Just forget about it. It's done and out of your system for more than two months now, and I assume people have done worse things being drunk. :)

hasn't happened to me, but you were drunk so it's not the worst it would suck if it happened to me so just try to forget about it no sense crying over spilt milk(sorry if in any way that offended vegans)
