my driving instructor seems to have cold sores, and after he drove me to a driving location, i drove the car. now, if he touched the cold sores and then drove, (touching the steering wheel),and then i touched the steering wheel and then touched my lips, can i get cold sores? and after the first contractions, after how many days do the symptoms show up?

It's pretty unlikely that you will contract cold sores (herpes) this way. Typically, you need more direct contact (i.e., kissing, drinking directly after someone, etc.).

If you do contract herpes from whereever, you may not ever get a cold sore in your life, you could just be a carrier or one could show up as soon as the next day. The more you stress about it, the more likely you will get one if you are a carrier. Stress and sickness tend to make you more likely to have a cold sore appear.

FYI, it's really not the end of the world. Most people have had a cold sore in their life which means they are carriers and could potentially have another occurrence at any time.

First of all, even if someone with herpes simplex (type I or type II doesn't really matter which type) is asymptomatic (no active lesions) skin cells can slough off and transmit the virus to someone else, by kissing or sharing a drinking glass or oral sex.

It may be possible for your driving instructor to pass germs along this way: he touches his mouth then the steering wheel, then you touch it and touch your face, but it's less likely than direct transmission. Make sure you wash your hands a lot and limit the number of things you touch.

I have heard reports of a person drinking after someone else who has cold sore, and feeling a tingling on his lips, he developed a cold sore a few days later. But it could be weeks before it shows up. Cold sores are more likely to occur if your immune system is lowered and your body is stressed. There is no cure for herpes and it has been estimated that up to 80 percent of people in America have one type or the other. If you have type I there seems to be some protection from getting type II and vice versa, though it is certainly possible to have both types. A study recently found that a substance in broccoli of all things may provide protection from the virus as well. Viruses don't live very long outside of the body, so the chances of transmission this way aren't very high.

I got identified with herpes simplex virus (type 2) about 5 yrs ago, whilst I was still attending college and had a mindless one-night stand. I know a lot of girls say this, but I swear I had never done that sort of thing before. I just made a massive mistake that one time and all of a sudden I felt like I was going to have to live with the consequences for the rest of my life. The hardest part was feeling I could never date men again. After all, who wants to go out with someone that has sores around her "you know what" area? But since a friend shared this movie https://tr.im/yyXoS everything got better.

Not only was I able to eliminate all traces of the herpes virus from my system in less than 3 weeks, but I was also able to start dating again. I even met the guy of my dreams and I'm so fortunate to write that just a week ago, in front of everyone in a busy restaurant, he got down on one knee and proposed to me! This program provided the opportunity to be happy and experience real love again. Now I want to help others too by sharing this story.

Not Likely...The sores contain virus. And virus's usually cannot live outside of the human body very long. It depends on the amount of time that you end up touching the steering wheel after he does. Its highly unlikely for you to get it this way...especially because you would have to time it perfectly and touch your lips in enough time for the virus to infect you. And that is if he manages to pass the virus onto the wheel in the first place.

I suggest washing your hands, or using a hand sanitizer after you drive the car. Try not to touch your face, eyes, or mouth before you wash or use the sanitizer, and until you can get to a sink.

Wash for 2 minutes, hands, fingers and under nails, and with warm/mildly hot water and scrub. Singing happy birthday twice in your head is a good timer of how long to scrub your hands.

Usually after initial infection, it will usually takes up to 9 days to appear. If you do get a sore, using topical products with lysine in them can help the sore diminish faster. Use it the minute you feel one coming on. Also, you can take Lysine and Echinaichea supplements to help your immune system fight them off.

I seriously doubt that you could get it. Symptoms can take weeks, months, years, or may never show up. 98% of the population has some form of the virus, with 50% not even knowing it or ever having symptoms. It usually only shows up when your immune system is down and the body can't fight the virus like when you are sick. I would just make sure to wash your hands after touching something he has. That will get rid of it.
