Being a vegan, I'd be very upset if I had to become a vegetarian and would refuse to do it. ;)

Wow people love to give the people saying they couldn't give up meat, a thumbs down pretty quickly. Calm down people!
It wouldn't be very hard for me. Lets just say I wasn't a vegetarian, I'd probably realize when I had no choice but to become a vegetarian, how poorly treated animals were.

i went vegan after 2 and 1/2 years of being vegetarian....and that was pretty easy...after getting food poisoning from many different kinds of meats, and then doing more research on vegetarianism/veganism, and discovering HOW the meat gets to your plate...i shalt NEVER consume meat, poultry, eggs, dairy, or fish, nor buy anything that has been tested on, or made from animals, willingly, EVER again, for as long as i live....
going vegetarian was pretty easy...completeing the cycle and going vegan wasn't that hard of a transition, either...just buy
- veggie burgers and meat substitutes (i higly recommend MorningStar Farms stuff, and California Veggie Burgers...as well as Tofurkey sausages and such...
- Veggie Slices cheeses (by Galaxy Nutritional Foods),
- Tofutti ice cream bars, and Soy Dream ice creams,
- Silk Soymilk, (Zen Soymilk has another cool flavor--Cappuccino--that Silk doesn't have yet...),
- Silk Soy-nog (vegan eggnog--absolutely yummy!)
- Silk Vanilla yogurt, too...
that little list pretty much covers all the basics... :D
i am definitely more at peace with myself being a vegan... start from being a vegetarian, then just go vegan.......you can do it! :)

It's not that difficult. I changed my diet to a vegetarian one and I'm at the point where I don't crave meat...I don't even like the sight or smell of it - raw or prepared.

Actually suprisingly easy for me, as the main staple of my diet seems to be cheese these days. I love meat and I eat it very regularly, but I don't think it would take that much to replace it with more cheese and eggs, etc. Yes, my diet would be a lot poorer for it because I'm quite averse to most vegetables and mushrooms and without meat I can't see my diet being varied enough, and I think I'd get very easily bored with it, but I could do it.
For me though, with my lifestyle, vegan would be practically an impossible choice.

Not difficult at all. It's a pretty easy lifestyle change as far as lifestyle changes go. Much easier than quitting smoking, if you would like an example.

I had no choice. I developed an allergy to meat protein. It was difficult at first, until I researched the topic, found out how cruely animals are treated, and how unsanitary meat really is-its full of fecal matter, growth hormones, steroids, and antibiotics. I just reframed the way I though about it. Been veggie for years now, and am grossed out by meat. I dont even walk past it in the meat aisle. Its all in the attitude

It would be pretty easy. I don't eat red meat (don't like the taste or texture). I do like to eat seafood and chicken. I could probably cut out chicken from my diet pretty easily but seafood would be very difficult.
