Learn your triggers (what triggers your allergies) and avoid them. Keep your house clean, Keep pets outside and never never never let them in the bed room. take over the counter allergy medication like Clairitin (you can use generic) or Benadryl. Use a saline nose spray to clean out your nose. Never use Afrin nose spray for more then 72 hours.

If the allergies are not controlled by this point. See a Doctor and ask about nasal steroids and prescription allergy pills like Allegra or Singulair.

Good luck

For natural relief and possible resolution to the problem you could try Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT). This is a meridian based therapy that is like accupuncture but without the needles. Instead we tap on points around the head and torso whilst using wordplay to resolve physical and emotional problems. I've worked with it for several years now and have a success rate of more than 80% including working with allergy suffers and asthmatics. I'd suggest finding a practitioner local to you for help with your problem to get the most efficient results. Some practitioners like myself do work by telephone. If you'd like to find out more then please go to the website of the founder of the therapy at www.emofree.com . You can download a free manual providing information on how to do EFT at a basic level.

Ask your regular doctor about "Flonase" type nasal spray for allergies. It really works for me. It's also much cheaper now because generic brands are available. It's for the treatment of allergic rhinitis.

Have you been tested for asthma? Ventalin can help with bad coughs, etc... I would check with your doctor if your asthmatic though.
