Prosciutto is basically the same thing as Parma Ham - difference being that 'Parma Ham' can only really be from Parma, Italy.

That's because the name 'Parma Ham' is protected by an EU law called 'Protected designation of origin'.

Prosciutto (in English Ham) is ham in general. In Italy there are different types of Prosciutto like nostrano, milano,.. one of this type is Prosciutto di Parma. This type of Ham is called Parma because it is made in the city of Parma. It have a different flavor of other because it has few salt and the flavor is more sweet than others.

Prosciutto is the Italian word for it and parma is the English word for it, no difference in taste its the same
