The eastern toilet is definetly more hygienic whereas the western seat is more comfortable however if we analyse from the bygone days the natural way for excreation is not seating like in western toilets but squating like in the eastern toilets. It is in this pose the evacuation would be more easy and complete unlike the western method where the intestines would not be fully loose and will be in folded condition resulting in partial evacuvation and requires us to go for toilet once again after certain period of time.

I carry my own toilet seat and when I need to do a number, I fastidiously unbolt the loo seat and replace it with my own number four pink satin padded (Queen Size) version.

It takes ages sometimes and there have been accidents on the way, but at least it is better than using a public loo seat.

Seriously, you have to crouch don't you! I cannot bear touching loo seats in public places!

Actually toilet seats are likely to carry very few germs, far fewer than will be on your hands. As long as you wash your hands both before and after neither type will pose a problem.

To me it somewhat is a controversy of ease of use. have you ever tried to stability and carry you handbag, pants/gown and programs and not enable something touch the floor - not hassle-free. adult adult males have it extra easy because of fact they don't take a seat as frequently as women persons do. additionally, each and all of the squat bogs I used you had to "flush" by potential of pouring water from a dipper into the bowl and there replaced into water throughout everywhere and that i don't evaluate that very hygenic with the spashing and all.
