The uric acid problem is due to incomplete metabolism of protiens in our food. This may be due to enzyme problem or due to heriditory, It is better to avoid food which are rich in protiens for eg red meat for non vegetarians and peas for vegetarians.Even consuming alcohol is said to add to the problem. The best diet for gouty arthrites is to avoid the food rich in protiens, excess fat and to drink plenty of water.
