The same reason they are allowed to have a certain percent of maggots in all their meat products. Fast food is not really food.

When possible avoid fast food restaurants like the plaque. Fast food has a reputation of not being healthy for a reason. If you must eat fast food Subway, Quiznos, and Chipotle all have decent vegetarian options though if you are a raw foodist you might have to make some concessions or go without.
My advice is to fix your own food as much as possible. It has the potential to be much healthier and is certainly cheaper than going out. If live in a bigger city there are usually healthier vegetarian options than fast food but to some degree you must be willing to pay more for it. Believe you body is a temple and you are worth the good stuff.

It's not really fair, although a lot of fast food chains that do offer veggie burgers, cook them on the same grill as the animal variety. Even if they're offered, your supposedly animal free burger may be dripping with cow juice. It's a creul world out there.

I know that Burger King has morningstar farms veggie burgers in my area. And they microwave the patty, so it never touches the grill with the meat :)
other than that, I usually end up eating smarter than my friends when we get fast food... a salad with no meat or a baked potato and I'm not covered in grease by the end of the meal.

Most of the "food" at fast food venues is nutrient-deficient anyhow. There is simply no point in eating a meal that consists of mostly saturated fat, cholesterol, sugar and sodium. I would advise not eating at any of these places at all.
also, McDonald's french fries are made with beef, and I believe some other places' fries are as well.

My take is that it all boils to demand and supply. If it's too much trouble and $ to cater to veg*ns it'll be better for their biz not to do it and lose a small portion of veg customers. And many veg*ns choose not to support fast food restaurants because they are part of the animal suffering industry. If it's gonna be very lucrative to cater for veg*ns, I am sure they will do it.
But if you live in some places, there are veg*ns fast food restaurants. Check these out :)

Perhaps in the future, we will see healthy veg fast food franchises all over the world - that would be nice.

why do you want to put bad gas in your car? dont eat fast food if you can avoid it. however if your in a rush, any food is better than no food. they do have veggie burgers at mc D, wendys has sandwhiches though.

Why would you go to a fast food restaurant when most of the product is meat based. Go for the salad or dont go at all.
