the only thing smoking will do is discolor the case, and piss of any one who works on it. Honestly, there is no way to protect your computer from the above, but smoking will NOT affect your computer in any other way.
Just don't smoke. It's bad for you.

Why are you so worried about protecting your computer?? Do you how know dangerous smoking is for YOU, and if you have kids, for them as well. Some fatal diseases that result from smoking are: lung cancer, coronary heart disease, Arteriosclerosis, chronic bronchitis, and many many others. Now, before you get so consumed on how to protect your computer, why don't you get more concerned about your health. Because, when you die from some disease caused by your heavy smoking, you're not going to be worrying about you computers safety, or anything for that matter. Never mind protecting your computer as yoiu can replace that if something happens. How about protecting yourself and everyone around you. If you don't think you are up to giving up smoking at least don't smoke in your house.

Place Nicoderm in your disk drive every 2 to 3 hours.
In between, wrap seran wrap around your computer screen, this will keep the smoke away.

I doubt smoke will hurt much other than maybe your CD drive. Try covering it up with plastic when not in use.
