why the americans are always trying to make some conversation. It's overwhelming! Don't you understand that other people prefer to be alone in some hour of the day? Besides, why they always invite you to have lunch to "X" place. Can't they eat alone?

Because most of us Americans are raised with "manners". We strive to be politically correct and accept others from different walks of life, and to respect, and not offend others. I work with the public, and meet people from all over the world. One thing I tend to notice about those from other countries, many, but not ALL...but many tend to have little, or no manners at all. If you are looking for more anti social, and non friendly Americans, they are out there. The KKK is on organization you might prefer, since you are not able to appreciate friendliness.

Are you just not a social person? There is nothing wrong with trying to talk or invite someone somewhere to bring a smile to their face. I think you need to pull your head out of the ground and learn to socialize. You never know when you will need someone's help. What's the point of being in this life if you are going to be in it alone?

Americans are very friendly and inquisitive of new people and new places. It is our nature to socialize over a meal or a cup of coffee. Your key word "invite" is a way of expressing interest by being polite. A simple and repeated NO THANK YOU is all you need . Or maybe they just feel safer with your company,,,,,,,,.

We all suffer from mild ADD- we need constant stimulation. We live with TV, email, internet - and are virtually never alone or have quiet (except people in northern Montana and Idaho, maybe.)

We can't help it. We are trying. Most of us are on medications so give us a break!

its just a cultural difference. what nationality are you? because most cultures are social.. latino... italian.... pretty much all that i know about...

and not all americans or all any nationality are always sociable. right now i have lots of people at my house and i don't feel sociable so i'm sitting up in my room..

please don't hold what "most" americans do against all of us. thats not fair to generalize in such a way!

I don't know anyone like this and I am all American. Maybe they are just trying to be nice and include you. If you don't want friends then tell them to leave you alone and maybe even move.

Americans are generally a gregarious people. We find reasons all the time to meet in groups. It is one of our cardinal freedoms to peacefully assemble. I don't know where you live, but my guess not here and not in Ireland. I pity you if your culture doesn't value friendship and mingling with others.

I wonder where you are from???? If you want solitude, stay indoors or go to wilderness areas. If you prefer to be alone, stay away from places other people go. Try the North or South Pole.
