not the time of labor. After conceiving, they have procedure of when to test what disease and other(sugar, WBC, RBC) etc in your blood. The urine test will be performed everytime you visit to the doctor for check up. The time of the labor, the doctor will make sure if you have HSV outbreaks, and others (if they found out or if you told them that you have these diseases). Usually they found out by blood test if you didn't know whether you have it or not. And they will check any infection and cut and wound around the vagina. The STDs tests by blood are performed before the due date.

Stds are usually diagnosed by urine. They are diagnosed by blood tests and cultures via the sexual organs. If a woman has been getting pre natal care, the doctor will usually get some blood work and test for syphillis and may do some culture to rule out stds, which could cause fetal death or complications and or birth defects.

I don't remember them doing that when I went into labor. They ran STD tests when I first got pregnant though.

no, if you think you may have an STD tell the doctor. He or she won't think you're dirty or unclean. They would just need to know so that your baby won't come out from your vagina being blind. If you have a certain STD, they can do a C - section to minimize risk to the baby.

No, they do not.
They may ask you about STD history upon admission to the hospital.
