I'm a nurse. You have to ask for specific tests like that however some hospitals do as protocol. I would ask for a blood type as well. Take care and all the best.

Well, they test the mother for STD's before you have the baby, and if the mother does they take preventative measures in order to reduce the risk of passing it onto the baby. If you are concerned that you may have a STD please tell your doctor, it could prevent a lot of health problems for your baby.

if a parent has certain std's the child will be tested however several stds cannot be detected in newborns - if you have an STD and are pregnant make sure your OBGYN knows your concerns

no if they tested babies for stds it would mean the baby has had sex and i doubt that very much :S........
