A 59 year old woman presents complaining of a cough productive of sputum for nearly 10 years. Her cough occurs during the day, and she produces sputum daily. The woman states that as a child, she had several episodes of pneumonia requiring hospitalization and antibiotics. The correct answer is E: Bronchiectasis.
Since she was sick growing up & has worked as a seamstress most of her life she has been breathing in the material causing her bronchi to get inflammed.

I would agree - E is the most likely which explains her increased infections due to pooling of fluid in lung!

I have eliminated all of them except E based on what you explained.
