Hi!
It depends on if you go to a clinic or a doctor's office. If you go to a clinic, it will take you about 3 days. If you go to the family doctor, it takes about 7 because they have to send it to the lab for results. A receptionist calls you on the phone to come in and talk about the results to the doctor. If your antigen count is low for HSV-II (genital herpes), you don't have it. You can also have HSV-I (oral herpes/cold sores). If the antigen count is high, you have the virus. You can have genital lesions by HSV-I, but they're milder than HSV-II. They also screen for other STDs like chlamydia, HSV-I, etc. by blood test in addition to herpes. Hope this helps! Good luck!
