Well you could put one into the other but it would be kind of pointless. Unless you just want a liver in a jam jar in your fridge for fun. Or if u get stuff to preserve it (the liquid but cant remember the name right now) you could keep it out above your fireplace on display.

Place your liver in a terrine and use the jar to press it down after it is cooked while it is resting. Bricks work better though.
