I have constant daily difficulty breathing through my nose. The sensations experienced are different to that experienced when one has a stuffy nose due to a cold or flu virus or similar

This is worse in the morning.

When putting my finger on one nostril and blowing the other, i feel a sensation of pressure in my nose (around the bridge of the nose area) and feel this is in someway causing difficulty of breathing. When i blow my nose there is nothing to come down.

This has over time also caused skipped beats and regular palpitations with my heart. I would be thinking it was a heart issue if my nose didnt have the blocked feeling it does, making me think it may well be the nasal region causing the difficulty breathing.

What i would like to know is are there are natural things can be done at home to breathe easier? (say for instance leaning over a bowl full of steam, certain exercises etc) Please assist me if you can with this

I am to get a bike soon to get me out and about

I have this too, it is miserable!!! Here is some info I found.
Nasal Polyps
Soft, gray and fluid filled, nasal polyps may impede the drainage of mucous from the nose. Large polyps may also restrict the airflow into and out of the nose. This could result in diminished exercise tolerance for some teens as well as mouth breathing for others. Mouth breathing during sleep may cause bad breath and sore throat as well as snoring.

Adenoids can cause problems too.

I am agoraphobic, particularly during the winter months, but mostly it's brought on by stress (home feels safe.) The longer I stay indoors the less I have to stimulate my mind and the more I start to fret about things (or maybe just different things.)
Inhaling steam is an excellent way to clear your stuffiness. You can also buy menthol crystals to add to the hot water (they are very cheap and you only need a tiny bit. My little bottle has lasted me years. They can be bought over the counter at any chemist's and are perfectly safe.
Getting a bike is an excellent idea. I'm lucky enough to live in a very quiet rural village and even though sometimes I have to really force myself I get out for a walk everyday. By the time I get home I am always glad I did. Exercise is good for the mind as well as the body.
Your heart skipping/palpitations just could be panic but - and I stress this - I am not a doctor, so please don't just take my word for it, pay your doc a visit. I'm sure she/he will put your mind at rest.
Good luck with the cycling and everything else!!

I can definatley agree that biking cld help. Excersize is number 1 for alot of things. I too had this type of a problem but I had stuff come out of my nose. Nasal congestion is a sign there is toxins in your body. That is why excersize can help.
Another thing to try is a salt rinse through your nasal passage. I bought this little tea pot thing at Walgreens. It is called Sinu Cleanse, it comes in a box. At first it really kinda burned my nose but then all this yelllow & green nasty stuff started comming out when blowing.
I also detoxify my body with OPC 3 with is an immune booster & blood cleaner. Another natural way is to use peppermint to sniff, or Eucalyptus Oil, that I rub on my chest at night before bed time.
Skinners vaporizing salve is like a Vicks but natural & works better for me. I don't know where u can get some cause i get it frm some Amish people here in WI...but it is the bomb! That is my number one remedy, I rub it into my temples on the sides of my head & put it under my nose. Watch out it is strong...

u can take a steaming hot cloth and put a small amount of Vick's vapor rub on it and breathe deeply through it to get some relief. Keep a pot of water boiling on the stove for moisture in ur living quarters, also. Take ur fingers and under ur eyes gently push upwards.

Last year I was to a movie at the mall and because of the air conditioner I made a sinus infection,it couldn't diagnose it right so I stayed 3 weeks with a killer pain , then after treatment, after just few months I got another one
It could be that you're allergic to something, your clothes, room,
I suggest you go to a good doctor

I suffered with extreme congestion and catarrh my entire life, no-one could pin down and answer or give me a cure that worked.

A few years ago I cut out dairy (becoming vegan) and it literally disappeared! It turns out that dairy is a well known cause of over-production of mucus, and cutting if out can help!

You never know!

If it not polyps you may try afrin... you can spray into one of theairways in your nose and at the same time you inhale it fast.. Then you repeat for the other nostril..
Then you will find it is easing off to some extent... due to sweelings of sorroundings you were unable to breath normally...

I started using a homeopathic nasal spray called similasan You can use as needed because it has no drugs in it. It is not habit-forming and is gentle enough for even toddlers. It seems to be helping me.I got it at my local pharmacy.
