you cant get rid of asthma but you can control an attack by going into the bathroom and turning on the shower all the way hot and sitting in the steam breathing as slowly and deeply as you can also if you only have problems when you run or work out try breathing in your nose for tow steps then out your mouth for two concentrate on it because it will be hard at first but after a while it will become second nature

Asthma is an allergy and is triggered by something. The best non medication treatment for asthma is learning your triggers and avoiding them. Common triggers are smoke, dust, mold, mildew, plants, dust mites, pets and grass/weeds.

If you can not figure our your triggers, you may need to see an allergist and have allergy screening done. This may point out your triggers.

The National Asthma Prevention Program and the Expert Panel of Diagnosis and Management of Asthma both agree if you have to use a prescription inhaler such as albuterol more then two time per week, your asthma is NOT in control and you will need a prescription controller medication.

Controller medications are steroids (Asthmacort Asthmanex, Flovent, Pulmocort), Leukotriene modifier (Singulair, Aculade, Zyflo) or mast cell stabilizers (Cromolyn sodium, Intal, Tilade).

You may want to talk to your doctor about several strong controller medications and maybe Xolair shots.

If you want a proven, all-natural way to cure your asthma, without having to pay for useless medications with harmful side-effects, then this is the most important page you'll ever read.

I have asthma (allergy and exercise induced) and ran cross country and track for years. There is no way to get rid of asthma. Generally, the only people who grow out of asthma are the ones who had it as a young child. For others, asthma onsets usually around puberty, and we are the lucky ones stuck with it for life.

You can manage your asthma very well with the drugs now on the market. There are a lot of different therapies out there, and your doctor can best advise you on this, but I found what was best for me was to take a pill (classified as leukotrine receptor antagonists) - I take Accolate, but Singulair is another commonly prescribed pill. In addition, I have my albuterol inhaler, which is the fact acting inhaler that provide immediate relief from asthma.

When I was running, I would always carry my albuterol inhaler with me in case an attack hit. Also, after running for awhile and conditioning your lungs, your asthma will improved and exercise will not be so difficult for you.

While it will may exercise and sports more difficult for you, it's still very possible that you can be a successful athlete. There are many people with asthma who have been incredible athletes, including Jerome Bettis (Go Steelers!), and Jackie Joyner-Kersee, an Olympic medalist in track.

Talk to your doctor, get the meds you need, and keep running!! Good luck!

It depends on what is the reason behind your asthma, environmental conditions that may be changeable (in and outside of your body), and the type of asthma you might have. In my case, I have seasonal asthma, triggered by too much pollen, too much dust, and excessive mucous buildup. I boost my immune system during pollen months, keep the house clean, and avoid milk and other foods, for which my body is intolerant. You can gradually change the atmosphere (blood health, cell wall regenerative capacity, and resources to fight disease) over time, too, which means cut out the bad stuff and find the best stuff to ingest and exercise as much as you can. I also take Singulair, but can do without it at times when the prescription runs out and I have to see a doctor to renew it.

You can't really "get rid" of asthma. There are some fortunate people who "grow out of it", but it can only be treated and controlled by asthma meds. Talk with your doctor.

Ashthma can be controlled but not rid of except through meditation. It is the five elements of fire, air, water , ether and earth which sustain our life and it is from these that human beings get their diseases also like ashthma. In other words, only the tatwas have the power/answer in getting rid of the diseases and for that their powers need to be harnessed in a suffering person through meditation. For that, the sufferer needs to learn the meditation techniques from an experienced spiritual teacher who constantly derives the assimilating, loving and the detached power of the tatwas by totally surrendering himself to them.
