I constantly have a sensation of difficulty breathing but its not severe but uncomfortable. My nasal passages for some reason seem to be really blocked every day, especially in the morning and its an undescribable blocked feeling as it is not like when you have a cold or a stuffy nose or anything like that. You know when you place a finger on one nostril and blow out, i do that but it just feels like a pressure in my nose & not actually anything up there (sorry for being gross by the way). A knock on effect is that it causes my heart to skip beats and palpitate regularly. Ive been to the doctors and they weren't sure what it was but said keep an eye on it.

For the longest time i thought it was a heart problem but i don't know because of the pressure in the nose issue. Is it possible for just a simple problem with the respiratory system in the nasal region to have an effect on the heart & cause the symptoms mentioned above?

I feel like i need to blow my nose but theres nothing thing?

Other point to mention

Sometimes when i put one finger on one nostril and blow the other, if i do it too hard enough, i start coughing. Is this connected to this?

One other question is the sinuses (nasal region) connected in anyway, by the similarity in name to the sinus node in the heart? Cheers

You most likely suffer from (1) a chronic sinusitis probably of allergic origin
(2) an unrelated arrythmia of the heart beat.

I would suggest you trust your doctor who believe that the heart problem is of no importance than just for follow up.

Regarding the sinus problem I sincerely believe you should seek an expert management.

The nasal sinus inflammation has nothing to do with the Sinus node of the heart.

Hope this answers your question.

Have you seen a heart doctor? I am not for sure how or why sinuses effect your heart but they do. I just got the shock of my life yesterday. My dad has been having really bad heart burn for 2 weeks and when he saw his Doctor on Sat. he found out it was due to a sinus infection.the doctor gave him some medicine for the infection and he hasn't had heartburn since.your heart isn't something you mess with so keep bugging your doctor until you get the answers you need. I know what you are talking about, my nose stays stopped up all the time but there is nothing in it, it just feels like the holes are closed up.

I'm a nurse. You could have allergies or something else. You need to see a doctor because not being able to breathe is alarming. I would think that it has something to do with your nasal cavity as well as maybe your lungs. It can cause heart problems if that is the source of your problem, don't put this off see the doctor right away before symptoms get far too worse to deal with. Take care and all the best.
