I have a few of the symptoms
blurred vision
thirsty
sometimes the tips of my fingers tingle
my skin is dry is itchy
and My mom has Diabetes are there any other symptoms I should look at for

Have you brought these concerns to your doctor? He or she would know what tests to have performed, as well as be able to exam you for any other causes. But, the typical tests for detecting diabetes are a Glucose Tolerance Test (fasting test, where you drink a sweet liquid and blood is drawn at intervals to see how your body meatbolizes the glucose), a Hemoglobin A1c (blood test, to show your average level of blood glucose over the past three months), and a serum blood glucose test, where they take a small drop of blood and see what the current level of glucose in your blood is. Conduct Glucose test in the morning after 12 hour fasting (fasting blood sugar) and there after again conduct glucose test 2 hours after taking breakfast.
Diabetes Mellitus
Essentials of diagnosis.
(1) Usually gradual in adults but acute in children.
(2) Polyuria (excretion of excessive amount of urine) , intense thirst.
(3) Nocturia (void of urine at night).
(4) Polyphagia (excessive ingestion of food).
(5) Weight loss, weakness, lassitude.
(6) Pruritus valvae (itching of the external genitalia) in females, balanitis (inflammation of the glans penis) in males.
(7) Leg cramps, crops of boils, loss of libido (sexual urge) and impotence (partial or complete inability of the male to perform the sexual act or to achieve orgasm) in middle age.
(8) Blurring of vision may develop.
(9) High fasting blood sugar content >120 mg%
(10) Urine may be positive for sugar.
