i mean at a dinner party ;does it make a difference if they have finger bowls

that sounds delishous. i would say only a finger food at home or in a very casual setting w/friends. then feel it out

If asparagus is quickly blanched (thrown into boiling water for a few seconds) to bring out the colour, yet is still stiff it can be served as a snack with any dressing you like just like you would serve if you were serving it with crudite. However it sounds like the way you are planning on serving it would only be appropriate if it was served at the dinner table.

At a dinner party do not use finger bowls. PS those Asparagus STALKS are really called SPEARS.

at home yes. at a dinner party with friends maybe, with your boss or at a restaurant, no.
