im sorry if this question is too adult. please excuse. i wanted to know if it was safe to use an oil lubricant for self anal pleasure? i know its not safe for condoms but if i just use it for myself is there any other health concerns?

Never. It traps bacteria. You always want to use a water-based lubricant.....for anal and vaginal sex. No Vaseline, either. I can't believe someone on here claiming to be a nurse would ever say that oil or Vaseline is ok. That just blows my mind.
Go buy some K-Y.

Baby oil is mineral oil with some perfume added for a pleasant smell. There could be some reaction from the perfume if you are allergic to it. You could try plain mineral oil. And to NURSEY---- it is NOT the same as K-Y or Vaseline. WHERE did you attend nursing school??? Oil based lubricant is OK for SELF pleasure; however, I would not overly recommend it for use with a partner.

baby oil, as far as lubricants go, is an excellent choice. it washes away fairly easily, and is a neutral liquid (not acidic), so it won't burn. another good alternative is Vaseline, if you want a lubricant with more resistance.

check out the condom section in the store. baby oil and vaseline are the worst things to use. you need water based lube.
