If exercising, do not overdo it. If cutting back on salt doesn't help.
Then take more fruits and vegetables, AND fish. Fish has essential fats that is good for the heart. If you are open to taking supplements (which is NOT medication by the way), then I suggest taking Salmon Omega-3 capsules. It will help lower BP.

To lower blood pressure without meds? It's good you exercise three times per week. A couple more things to do to help: drink at least 8 - 8 oz. glasses or 4/16 oz. bottles of water per day. That will help you stay hydrated, and that helps keep the bp in line. Also, and very important, is whatch your salt intake. Do you salt your food at the table? Stop it. Do you salt your food when cooking? Please try other spices. A little bit of salt truly goes a long way. Cut back on highly salty foods-cheese, popcorn, (with salt), things like that. Also, if you can, please ask your dr. for a referral to a nutritionist to go over all the high salt foods, etc. How to season without salt, etc. Take care.

i was on the borderline of having high blood pressure, and the thought they were going to have to start me on meds but they didn't. You have to cut out all the salt, and sodium...which is hard cause sodium is in a lot of stuff and I never really paid it much it much mind until the whole high blood pressure. If you do this for a couple of weeks you'll be just fine. I didn't even work out that much...lol so you might be even better than me...lol....good luck and have a good day.

Are you doing any cardio exercises? You didn't say what you do when you exercise. I take the B vitamins along with other vitamins and minerals and protein. I also take garlic tablets (odor free). I use weights and I use ann exercise bike about 4 times a week. Don't eat salty snacks. If you have to snack, then eat grapes or strawberries or some kind of fruit you like. Hope this helps.

Cut back on salt and alcohol in addition to eating a healthier diet. Also, you should not just exercise 3 days a week but at least do cardio 5 x a week for a min of 30 min.

Lower your salt and sugar intake, too. Make sure you are not overweight. That stress on your heart definitely brings up your BP. If that doesn't get you into the normal range....then you will need to take medication. Not keeping your BP under control damages your heart AND your veins and arteries.

I think all of the advice given seems good. I just want to add that if you need pills to control your blood pressure, take them - you don't want to risk blacking out, falling, and hitting your head - or having a stroke.

Stay away from salty food products. You would not believe how much salt is in just about everything that tastes good. It's unreal...

Also you might try foods that are heart healthy, such as fruits, & veggies.
