How sexually active are you with multiple partners? You may need it as often as once a month

I think most of these answers are very naive. I contracted herpes from an ex boyfriend who I was in a MONOGAMOUS, safe relationship with for TWO YEARS. He made the choice to have an affair and brought it home to me. So, you don't just get checked because you are sleeping around or have multiple partners. ANYTIME you have unprotected sex, with someone in a committed relationship or casual, you should be tested. I would recommend every 6 months or at least once a year at your OB/GYN checkup.

People need to get educated - AIDS is out there and it just doesn't happen when you are engaging in risky behavior!

You should quit having sex with multiple partners, so you have no reason to be checked for STD's.
If you are having sex, you should be checked after every new partner.
I was married and got an STD from my husband.

If you engage in high risk behavior, I would say every three months. Better yet, why don't you protect yourself?

I'd say every six to twelve months, more if you engage in risky sexual activity.
