bronchitis is characterised by increased musous production. It is a form of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (copd). Copd can be caused by undertreated asthma, smoking, environmental exposure etc. Therefore both are the same thing really just one is occuring in an asthmatic.

I once suffered from Chronic Bronchitis. I would suffer sometimes 3 to 4 times per year! Bronchitis is an infection on the chest. Asthmatic bronchitis is when you cannot breath because of the infection and coughing, which tightens the airways and makes it difficult to breath.
