None. The SA node in the heart's right atrium sends the initial signal to start the beating process. It then sends a signal to the AV node which sends it to the Bundle of HIS. This causes the ventricles to pump. If the SA node is not working, the AV node will try to take on the challenge, but it beats at a lower number. This is also true for the AV node and the bundle of HIS. Google SA node for more information about the heart's conduction system.

None of the above. The heart beats because of electrical impulses that originate in the heart. The brain does not tell the heart to beat, it has nothing to do with it. How would the heart of "brain dead" people beat it that were true? The heart is an amazing organ that generates it's own electrical impulse that causes each heart beat. Do a google search to get a more in depth answer.

The heart is made of cardiac muscle and will beat without the rest of the things. I think this is a trick question. The sinus node should be in control of the heartbeat, but sometimes it gets blocked and other parts of the heart take over. The pt could end up with v tach or a junctional rythm.
