I've had a pretty bad case of bronchitis for about 3 weeks and this morning my eye's were caked in crusty goo when I woke up and they've been pretty red and dry all day. Also the last few days every time I blow my nose (no matter if i plug one side or blow with both nostrils open) my right ear pops, preceeded by a horribly loud squelching sound. I live in Canada and don't want to wait another 4 hours at the clinic to find out that these are common symptoms of bronchitis so I thougth I'd see if anyone here knows anything.

Oh yeah, when my ear finally repressurizes I hear the same squelching noise (though not quite as loudly). And sometimes it takes hours for the ear to repressurize, no matter how much I yawn or cough or anything else i try.

Have you seen your primary care physician? If you haven't, I think it's time.

The symptoms you mention appear to be a sinus infection secondary to your bronchitis. If you have colored sputum with productive cough, you may have a bacteria infection... which does require antibiotics like Biaxin or Azithromycin (Zithromax).

By now you may need to check your ears for an infection as well... as that usually is a complication of sinus infection. I don't like to act like the news media and scare everyone, but it seems you have a problem that needs attention.

Good luck.

If you are not already taking antibiotics for your bronchitis then i would go back to the doctor to get antibiotics - especially if pain from your ear. It could also be signs of congestion and may clear in time so long as not painful. Any pain from ear see your doctor.

You have a significant respiratory infection. A combination head cold type infection and a chest cold as well. Such colds can develop into pneumonia.
