Pasta is really a high carb meal. The carbs release a substance kind of like endorphins, which makes one feel sleepy. Try having a smaller amount of pasta and add some salad and a protein next time. It may help.

Yes, this is very common. Large amounts of carbs naturally make you feel sleepy as they cause a rush and then a drop in blood sugar, so they are better consumed in the evening. If you do want to at them in the day, make sure you're eating wholegrain pasta rather than white, refined types. Also cut down on the amount you're having and up your intake of protein instead, so if you were eating a bean and pasta salad make sure your intake of beans is higher than the pasta. I suffered from this as well as I get hypogylcemia (when my blood sugar drops too low) and I deal with it by only having small amounts of grains in the day.
Another thought is that you might have an intolerance to the pasta, which would make you tired as well. If you're eating wheat pasta try switching to natural corn pasta and see if that helps. Make sure you go for 100% natural corn, not the refined types.

If you are eating regular pasta..I can see that happening because your blood sugar spikes then falls quickly. Switch to whole wheat pasta and it wont happen. It also tastes exactly the same.

whatever you are putting in the pasta is too heavy for your stomach, and it is drawing all the blood to your stomach to try and digest the food.
try some tomato sauce, or soy sauce on the noodles instead. dont forget, the noodles are the meal, the topping is just to make it a bit more fun

I do ... It's your body going into a complete carb overload. You probably have had breakfast and snacks that contained a lot of carbs, and your natural circadian rhythms combine with that to make you really sleepy.

no actually eating those kind of high carb foods is good if and only if you plan on running or doing activity after wards its burns faster and gives you an extra boost of energy so that the acid that builds up when you run does not build up so quickly
