Yes. Lisinopril is an ACE inhibitor drug. One of the most common side effects of these meds is a dry cough.

The first answer you received is correct. Lisinopril is in the class of blood pressure medications we call 'ACE inhibitors' and all the drugs in this category can cause some people to get what we call the 'ACE cough'. It's not dangerous...just annoying...and totally unnecessary. Get your healthcare provider to change your medication....there's many to choose from. My personal favorite is Benecar. It is effective. Just make sure your insurance covers it...it can be expensive. But it works well and usually can no side effects.....but there is plenty to choose from.

You should change your medication, perhaps to an ACE blocker. In one sense the cough is like an allergic reaction
