I'm a vegan. I guess this will sound really biased, and it's people like me that make meat eaters hate vegetarians/vegans, but i do prefer to date vegetarians/vegans, and i would never marry a meat eater. (see, i told you it was biased) because, basically, imagine if someone did something you think is totally wrong (such as molesting children or killing other people and then eating them) would you like to date or marry them?

I'm a Vegetarian and if I were interested in being married then only under certain conditions would I accept a meat eater for a mate. 1. If the meat eater proposed to me. 2. must respect my vegetarianism. 3 must not eat meat in front of me!
4. Must never try to get me to eat meat. 5. Never put me down for eating meat. Of course I'd prefer a vegetarian mate. Well I'm not really interested in marriage but that doesn't mean I'd say no if someone asked me! I just don't want to lose what little freedom I have!

I'm a vegetarian. Obviously, I would prefer to date a vegetarian like me because it means that we have the same point of view, but actually the guy I'm dating now is a meat eater. This makes it even more interesting because thanks to everything I've shown him about the meat industry, he's eating a lot less meat and considering to become a vegetarian in the future.
It depends on how important is being vegetarian to you and the motivations you have. If you're an animal rights activist or you are in a religion that doesn't allow to eat meat, then you will only date people that share your same point of view.

I'm vegan , and my husband is a meat-eater. He was actually a long time vegetarian until about a year before we met. He eats a mostly vegan diet at home (since that's what I cook), but does occasionally eat meat and other animal products when we're out. I figure it's his choice to make, but do like that there's not meat in our house. Our son is eating a vegan diet (he's one), and will continue to until he's old enough to decide for himself.

i am a vegan but i think i would marry a meat eater if i really loved him (although i would at least try to convert him into a vegetarian:-)), because i believe there are things more important than this, also if i were to think this way i should stop meeting all of my friends, as none of them is vegetarian. i guess everybody we meet sometimes does stuff we disagree with, but it doesn't necessarily affect our relations with these people...

I became a vegetarian eight months ago. My husband also decided to go vegetarian two weeks after I did. We are still eating fish, dairy, and eggs. Eventually, I would like to stop milk and fish, then later, eggs. Best to do things gradually. I don't know if I'll ever be able to stop cheese.
I think if I were dating again, for some reason, I would not date a meat eater. He would have to already be vegetarian or be willing to switch. It's more than a diet, it's a spiritual, moral, and ethical decision.

I'm a vegetarian, and my boyfriend is basically a carnivore. He eats meat, bread and potatoes. He's awesome and he is very respectful of my decisions, just as I am respectful of his decisions. So, yes I date people who aren't vegetarians, but only if they respect me. I dated a guy last summer who kept saying he was going to get me a birthday cake with a chicken breast in it. He got dumped pretty quick. If I were to marry a meat-eater, I would cook for him.

I prefer to date other vegans. I don't foresee any situation where I would date anyone less than vegetarian and even that seems unlikely. My reasoning is that if they don't respect and love animals as much as I do, we have a major ethical conflict. I would not want to be with someone who did not share my beliefs in such an important area of my life and someone who eats animals could not possibly have that level of belief.
