A pupusa is a thick tortilla made with corn flour that is popular in Central America (especially El Salvador). It is filled with either cheese, fried pork rinds, chicken or refried beans. Pupusas are traditionally served with curtido (a pickled cabbage relish, possibly containing hot peppers) and tomato sauce, and are traditionally eaten by hand.

They are very very very very good. My best friend is from El Salvador and her mom makes BANGING pupusas. I prefer the pork ones. The 'relish' is very spicy for my taste but it can be made milder. Recipes are in the 2nd link and 3rd link for the relish.
