if you really think you might be having a stroke you should go to the hospital. your ability to function is more important than money.

if you dont think you are having a stroke, go to a cheap clinic and get examined. you can probably call a doctor or the hospital or the town government to find out where cheap clinics are in your area.

You can go to the hospital. Hospitals are obligated to treat anyone regardless of ability to pay. You can figure out the finances later on. The critical time for getting help is the first three hours of symptoms. Have a friend or neighbor drive you over NOW!! Don't drive on your own. If you're really in a bad space, call 911 NOW instead!!! Get to the nearest hospital ASAP. Once you've been seen, if it is not a stroke, then go to a community or free clinic in your area. Call the health dept. for a referral.

Right now, take 1/2 of a regular aspirin, and continue to take a 1/2 aspirin at breakfast and dinner until you see a doctor - this reduces clotting. Cut down to one dose if it causes stomach irritation.

You really don't have many choices. If you have a stroke, you are going to end up with gigantic medical bills, and you may not be able to work. So, in the long run, it may be cheaper to go to a doctor right now. Go to a walk-in health care facility instead of an ER if you can - they are much cheaper. Many hospitals operate these as "quick care" centers. Many of these places charge a flat fee of $35 to $50, and maybe they will charge a lower fee if you don't have insurance. You might be able to find one in the yellow pages. Its important to see a doctor within a few hours of a TIA because they might not be able to find the cause if you wait too long.
