I know this is a pointless question that will draw the meat eaters who insist we need meat. I don't mind, I am in the mood for a laugh. What my question is, is why do you think vegetarians are emaciated, pale, anorexic hippies? I get plenty of quality whole protein from grains and beans, and vegetables. I get all of the necessary vitamins I need (tested with blood work) My body feels stronger and healther, and my digestive issues and other health ailments have improved dramatically since I gave up meat and poultry. I don't care if you eat meat...eat what you want...but quit making stupid judgements about vegetarians, when you simply do not have a clue about it. I can tell you the nutritional value, calories, sodium content, vitamin content, etc of every food I eat. Unless you can say the same, then why not just go grill your tasty animal and leave us veggies alone?

My belief is that many animal-eaters feel threatened by vegetarians, that they perceive they are the ones being judged, and therefore, when most of us feel threatened, we respond aggressively or go on the attack. I think that's what can lead a person to make a comment like "The Bible doesn't support it" when I can send you a book and CD that goes on and on about how the Bible does, and along with a million other things the Bible "supports" which are not morally acceptable today. i.e. I'm sure there's someone somewhere that feels slavery and poligamy are good because they're in the Old Testament. And there's an interesting line of studies which show how meat-eating animals are significantly more aggressive than herbivores. So, bottom line, don't make those animal-eaters mad or they might just come after your babies and all you will have to fend yourself off with will be a celery stalk and a stiff piece of seitan. (a nod to you, whispersofindago's --- your post cracked me up! :)

I am on a vegan diet although I do it only for the nutritional value and not the beliefs. I do not pass judgment on other people who do it for what they believe it. I like that my weight is dropping dramatically, so much that it is hard to believe. I have to tell people that I am on this diet all the time b/c they ask why I don't eat this and that...but they never question my motive. Honestly there are just so many judgmental people out there that don't really have anything to believe in themselves that they find it hard to believe that people can be so passionate about thing. What can I say but there are a lot of ignorant non-cultured people out there. Hang if there, don't get mad about it just have patients. If someone passes judgment just remember the reasoning behind what you are doing and you are the better person.

Actually you are coming off a bit hostile.

A great recipe index for vegetarian recipes is here: http://allrecipes.com/Recipes/Everyday-Cooking/Vegetarian/Main.aspx

Just for the record, I am one of those meat-eaters but I do not have any preconceived notions about vegetarians or vegans for that matter. I've been on vegetarian diets and I've been on meat consuming diets. I like what I like regardless and don't care in the slightest what anyone else chooses or declines in eating.

As long as its not infants...then I just have to get mad and will make some sort of nasty statement and make all kinds of a fuss. Human babies are not for eating nor do they taste good with ketchup.

Anyhoo...enjoy the recipe site. They have a great veggie chili dish!

I've been a vegetarian for 6yrs now and proud to be one. I've been asked by some of my family members (who are meat eaters) "why did you give up eating meat??, "why are you still a vegetarian..?, and "eat meat be healthy". It's like i've committed a sin...
Meat Eaters should mind their own business. They should'nt judge and give us nasty comments just because we don't eat meat.

im a meat eater, but i dont judge veggitarians. I have friends that are veggitarians, ones even a vigan. And i dont mind that somtimes when im with them i eat veggitarian food too. i wont eat meat. and i dont think veggitarians are pale anorexic hippies, their just normal people who dont like eating meat(animals) but i have had veggitarian meat though and i didnt like it no offense. So dont think everyone thinks that all veggitarians are freaks just because a couple people do.

“i don't understand vegetarians.” - confident, as a results of fact opposing pointless dying is one in all those project to hold close. “They act like that's incorrect to kill animals, yet as quickly as we did no longer then what the hell could we do with them .....in simple terms enable them to takeover?” - Uh, no longer breeding them interior the 1st place could be a solid place to start. “i've got killed extra animals then maximum folk, and a few I consume yet some i do no longer” - Bravo, you decide on a medal? “If a hog is rooting up my pasture, what else am I meant to do, yet shoot him?” - That like asserting, “you have been peein in my timber, what else replaced into I sposta do yet shoot ya?.” The very thought is asinine. Don’t save hogs and you wont could desire to hassle approximately it. “ what's the huge deal?” -confer with above quote, in case you don’t see the huge deal I worry for society in simple terms slightly extra advantageous than I did until now I study this. “Ya'll city human beings don't understand, as a results of fact your too worried approximately "killing innocuous animals". so which you do no longer consume meat... how is that gonna substitute something for the extra effective?” - bypass back to intense college (in case you went) and pay interest in economics class related to the thought of furnish and demand. Its no longer a puzzling lesson, I promise. “in case you do in contrast to how animals are mistreated then open up a kinder and extra gentle slaughter abode, possibly you should furnish all of them dying with the help of in simple terms putting them to sleep. how retarded is that?” - properly warm rattling, I advantageous didn’t start up this thinking i could ever accept as true with you yet right here we are. I additionally agree that a kinder, gentler slaughterhouse is a waste of time. i think of we could desire to consistently no longer be utilising animals in any respect. Animals are sentient beings, and as such have the suitable to no longer be taken care of as supplies or used for human pastimes. “Animals are right here for our earnings, it is not merciless, it is not incorrect, that's in simple terms existence how that's meant to be.” - The reaction to that's e book length so i visit in simple terms say that no longer see you later in the past in case you have been to alter the be conscious animal for “colored human beings” many including your self could have agreed with that assertion besides. Slavery is slavery no remember how superb that's, nor what sentient being is in touch.

Those 4 little teeth you have ('canines'-as in dog/meat eater) are for just that-tearing into MEAT. I don't eat all that much meat, either, but I'm definitely not for being a vegan. For one thing, the Bible doesn't support it.
