This is probably what we call SVT (supra ventricular tachycardia). SVT happens when a person's heart has an "electrical problem".
If this condition is frequent, or if it lasts for more than a couple of seconds, it can be very dangerous. Blood clots can easily form in the ventricles and be pushed into the body. These clots can go to the lungs (pulmonary embolism) and restrict the blood from being oxygenated. They can also go to the brain and cause TIA's (transient ischemic attack) or even a full blown stroke.
It sounds like this isn't the first time you've had some SVT. You definitely need to see a doctor. There is no home remedy for this condition. You will need an EKG to definitevly diagnose this problem. Sometimes medication can alleviate the problem. However, if it is severe enough, you may need an ICD (implanted cardiac defibrillator).
Go to the doctor, insurance or not. Yes, you'll get some bills, but at least you'll be alive to ge them.

By spazzing out do you mean it just started beating wildly and irratically? Did it feel like it had extra beats and was pounding all out of control?
If so those are called heart palpitations. I had a 2 week "spazz attack" myself...I'm undergoing tests to see what's going on.
Usually stress, too much caffeine or Coke, not enough sleep, or a combination of all three, can get them going. It's almost like an anxiety attack.
It's scary because it feels like you're having a heart attack or something.
Most people have palpitations but don't feel them. There are many reasons they happen, including heart disease...so you have to rule out a lot of things to get to the cause and sometimes there's no answer. But if you have ruled out heart problems then at least you know it's not life threatening.
Stay calm and don't stress, eat well, drink lots of water, ease off on the caffeine and pop and REST a good 8-9 hours a night if not more, and most importantly exercise, even if it's walking, do it every day. That is the most important of all.

There are many things that can simulate heart disease. But it sounds like an arrhythmia, this is when your heart is off beat. To know if this is really what happened you need to see a Dr. and have an EKG taken. Do it now....if its serious it can cause death.

Insurance or not, you HAVE to see a doctor. That was probably a transient ischemic attack(TIA) which could be a prelude to a stroke.
