A friend recently fainted. She seemed ok in a couple minutes, but went to the hospital any way. she spent 4 days in the hospital, and it was diagnosed a mild heart attack. Possible? No chest pain, just dizzy and passed out about 45 seconds.

Yes, that's entirely possible. Other symptoms can include a mild feeling of lameness in either arm and migraines.

Why would you question a diagnosis made at a hospital by qualified medical staff?

ABSOLUTELY! One of the biggest factors causing permanent damage is not knowing you are actually having a heart attack!!!
Happens every day in this country and elsewhere!
You're best chance at survival and minimizing damage is KNOWING the signs of a heart attack and reacting accordingly!
They are finding this therory also applies to stroke vitims! Those that get to a hospital within the first hour show remarkable recovery versus those that do not!
My mother was an RN and worked in a hospital. She had her first stroke while at lunch in the hospital cafeteria! Due to the circumstances, she made a complete recovery from a pretty massive stroke! She went on to have seven more before her death. She was never paralyzed permanently as a result of any of the strokes. The first one did compromise the whole right side but due to being in the hospital and immediate care, her recovery was complete!
If you have heart disease it is paramount knowing the signs of a heart attack! It should top the list of your priorities!

There has been a study, recently published that showed that women had extreme headaches, more often than the pain in their chest or left hand as a sign of heart attack, so yes it's possible.

Chest pain does not always precede a heart attack! A sudden drop in blood pressure to the brain due to heart fluctuation can cause blackouts! I hope your friend was prescribed medicine to counteract her problem! She needs more tests to determine why she had an attack in the first place! It's vital!

Yes that can happen, a "mild heart attack" can be caused from a varity of conditions. The term heat attack by itself is somewhat vague...there is always a more precise condition or cause for it.

That's very possible...women show different symptoms from men. I'm glad she went to the hospital. Tell her to follow her doctor's instructions to the letter!
