A little secret ; you match the wine[s] to what's on the food not the actual food . If you were going to serve the shrimp , clams and scallops in a red sauce loaded with garlic and red pepper flakes a woosy little wine like a Pinot Grigio that may have been appropriate if you were not using such a big sauce will get buried by the big flavors of the garlic and red peppers.

Definitely white wine because it's seafood. If you want something inexpensive but not cheap tasting ($15-18 a bottle) La Crema Chardonnay 2005 is great with shrimp!

White fruity wines are really good. Even a desert white wine like Gewurztraminer is also very good. You can as well try Prosecco, it's Italian sparkling light tasted and fruity flavor wine, that matches well with seafood.

ANY wine that YOU like to drink.... I cannot stress enough the importance of having what you like rather than going along with what someone says is the proper thing to do.

One person's proper thing to do may NOT BE MINE so I always do what is right for me.

The rule of thumb is go with a wine that matches the color of the food you are serving. If you don't like that type of wine certainly stick with what you enjoy. Life is all about choices...YOU get to make YOUR own choice in what you want to eat and drink !

Enjoy!

White wine like - Chardonnay wine, is best with seafood... any brand will do..

Don't get red wine because it's more of red meat like beef or stake.... Hope you have a good party..

I know everyone always says, red with beef and white with fish and chicken. I do enjoy a nice Chardonney with my seafood, but have found that it's much easier to give people a choice. Put a bottle of red and a bottle of white on the table...and enjoy. Your meal sounds lovely...I won't be late!

Chardonnay is good. I love Clos Du Bois and it's not too expensive.

Don't forget a great beer - they pair really nicely. corona with a lemon. or some other light lemony beer. yum!
