If that sounds like what you have, follow their instructions.
If you are experiencing itching anywhere else on your body you may have scabies. That requires a prescription.

Anything that kills bugs will work, usually contains pyrethrins.
Ingredients in RID shampoo:
Shampoo: Active Ingredients: Piperonyl butoxide (4%) (Lice treatment) Pyrethrum Extract (equivalent to 0.33% PYRETHRINS) (Lice treatment) Inactive Ingredients: Ammonium Laureth Sulfate, Fragrance, Peg 25 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Polyquaternium 10, Purified Water, SD Alcohol. Comb-Out Gel: Water, Glycerin, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Behenamidopropyl Dimethylamine Behenate, Cabbage Extract, Cysteine, Disodium EDTA, Disodium Phosphate, DMDM Hydantoin, Fragrance, Iodopropynyl Butylcarbamate, PG-Hydroxyethylcellulose, Cocodimonium Chloride, Pineapple Extract, Polysorbate 20, Sodium Chloride, Sodium Phosphate, Tocopheryl Acetate. Control Spray: Active Ingredients: Permethrin 0.50% (3-phenoxphenyl) methyl cix/trans3-(2-2 dichloroethenyl) 2,2 dimethylcyclopropanecarboxylate. Cis/trans ratio: min 35% cis and max 65% trans Other Ingredients: 99.50%
This is probably safer than RID:

I have gotten sprays like this on my hands without any ill effects. If it is safe for a small dog, it's probably safe for humans. Same ingredients as human treatment (actually less pyrethrin) and a lot cheaper.
(I WAS THINKING YOU WERE A MALE AND HAD ACTUALLY SEEN LICE. IF YOU ARE A FEMALE AND HAVEN'T SEEN LICE, YOU MIGHT JUST HAVE A NORMAL VAGINAL ITCH. VAGISIL (OVER-THE-COUNTER) SHOULD STOP THAT).

No fun, hope this helps.
A lice-killing shampoo (also called a pediculicide) made of 1% permethrin or pyrethrin is recommended to treat pubic lice. These products are available without a prescription at your local drug store. Medication is generally very effective; apply the medication exactly as directed on the bottle. A prescription medication, called Lindane (1%) is available through your health care provider. Lindane is not recommended for pregnant or nursing women, or for children less than 2 years old.
Malathion* lotion 0.5% (Ovide*) is another prescription medication that is effective against pubic lice.

You need buzz clippers, gasoline, a match and a knife.
Buzz one half of your pubic hair to almost bald. Pour gas on the other side of pubes. Light it on fire. When the crabs go running out of the pubes start stabbing the little f'ers with the knife.
Good Luck.
